This morning we woke to a winter wonderland and it was so pretty that I couldn't resist grabbing my camera for a couple quick pics before leaving for work. Good thing because it was all gone when I came home!

Horse & Buggy's
Here's some more photo's from our wknd trip to St. Jacob's. The first 2 show a horse and buggy on the far side of the river. Unfortunately, I didn't have my 500 lens, it would have worked better for these photo's, BUT, I think it still looks pretty neat. The last 2 are looking through the front window of our little cottage.

The Conestoga River
My Aunt and I just took a trip to St. Jacobs for the wknd and this is the view from our B&B where we stay. It's called "By The River" and for anyone heading to St Jacob's for the wknd, you'd be well worth looking to stay here! It's gorgeous!

Farewell to Egypt Hall
In the wee hours of July 26th, lightening struck Egypt Hall and destroyed it. According to residents, the hall opened in 1989 and was built by community volunteers in conjunction with town officials. The community vows to once again rebuild the hall by Christmas this yr, if not shortly after.

After The Rain
We have had hardly any rain all season and from yesterday into today, I think we made up for it. Today was incredible. The amount of rain that fell was unbelievable. When it ended, this is what the street looked like - the ditches so full they were up to the road on one side
This is a friend of ours down at the corner .. they are under water and it's flowing super fast through the culverts, but still dangerous when you have 3 children, 2 of which are quite young
Here's the culverts in their ditch - before I got my camera, the water was right up over the top of them
This is their yard, unbelievable. She's put a call into the town to see what can be done
front yard .. flooded
the culverts lead to the park, which normally is a small waterway - you can see what is normally a walking bridge, here it looks like a piece of wood or something!
One last shot - this is from the road and shows that both homes are flooded because the water just had nowhere to go

Hard At Work
Good morning!! Out and about in my front yard in Sunday and caught this little guy busy doing what bee's do! I had fun following him around as he did his business .. it really is cool what they do and how they do it. In some of the photo's you can see the pollen.
